Office of the Bishop

The Office of Bishop is the symbol of unity in the Catholic Church. A bishop is appointed by the Pope and leads a geographic region of the church called a diocese. He shepherds the diocese in spiritual matters while also serving as an executive and judicial leader for the church on the local level. Bishops are directly in line with the apostles through apostolic succession. Most Reverend Robert A Llanos stands as the 4th ordinary of the Diocese of St. John’s-Basseterre.

Bishop Robert A. Llanos

Born in Port of Spain Trinidad, Bishop Robert A. Llanos was ordained Bishop on September 14th, 2013 and appointed as Auxillary Bishop of Port of Spain.

In June 2016, Auxiliary Bishop Robert Llanos was appointed Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of St. John’s-Basseterre residing in Antigua and Barbuda and was later appointed Bishop of the Diocese of St. John’s-Basseterre on 18th December 2018. He was installed on Sunday 3rd February at the Holy Family Cathedral in Antigua and Barbuda.
