Marriage Tribunal

Eastern Antilles Inter-Diocesan Tribunal

The Eastern Antilles Inter-Diocesan Tribunal represents one part of the Church’s effort to offer healing and hope to the victims of failed marriages. The Tribunal investigates these situations to determine whether the parties in certain instances may be free to remarry. The tribunal holds dear, its mandate to preserve the innate dignity of marriage and the Gospel’s prohibition against arbitrary and unwarranted divorce. Recognizing that we live in an imperfect world, and divorce has emerged as a common reality, every person who was previously married, whether Catholic or not, reserves the right to seek clarification on the canonical status of their previous marriage(s).
