Consultative Bodies
College of Consultors
Consultors are priests of the Diocese. The College of Consultors acts according to canon law and advises the Bishop on major decisions affecting the diocese. They also serve as members of the Presbyteral Council. The current college comprises:

Diocesan Presbyteral (Priest) Council
In accord with the norms of canon law, the presbyteral council acts as a senate of the bishop assisting him in the governance of the diocese so that the pastoral welfare of the people of God may be more effectively achieved. Consultation with the presbyteral council is at the discretion of the diocesan bishop. This council comprises:

Diocesan Finance Commission
The Finance Council acts as an advisory board to the diocesan Bishop and the diocesan finance officer that is composed of members of the Christian faithful truly expert in financial affairs and civil law, outstanding in integrity, and appointed to serve a three year term. The Finance Council advises the bishop on all significant financial matters including but not limited to financial policies, the annual diocesan budget, investments and the purchase and sale of property.
Building Commission
The Diocesan Building Commission (DBC) serves the bishop of the Diocese of St.John’s-Basseterre by advising him regarding building projects involving parishes and other diocesan entities. The commission also directly assists these parishes and institutions by providing appropriate recommendations and resources.
Diocesan Review Board
Diocesan Review Board exists to assist the Bishop and the Diocese in determining and responding to allegations of sexual abuse of a minor. This Review Board is composed of at least five persons of outstanding integrity and good judgment, and who are in full communion with the Church. The majority of the members of this Board are laypersons who are not in the employ of the Diocese.
Key functions:
1) Advising the Bishop in his assessment of allegations of sexual abuse of minors and his determination of the accused clergy member’s suitability for ministry;
2) Reviewing diocesan policies for dealing with sexual abuse of minors;
3) May be asked to offer advice on all aspects of these cases, whether retrospectively or prospectively.
Marriage and Family Life Commission
St. John’s-Basseterre’s Family Life Commission helps to realize the Church’s vision for marriage and the family. The Commission explores ways to help families become intimate communities of life and love, share in the life and mission of the Church, and finally be fully alive in loving each other as God loves.
